Ramparts: Winter Foothills: Rivered and Hightower

Rivered is the capital of the Province of the Ramparts. It is located on the southern side of the Silvershine (the American River), approximately where the town of Folsom is today, high enough to be safe from the winter floods that inundate the area around what is now Sacramento. At present, part of the river valley is occupied by Folsom Lake. Folsom prison is set on flat land below the dam. In the Cataclysm, all the dams on the rivers that flow down from the Snowy Mountains are broken, and the rivers resume their old courses.
Folsom prison is swept away, although the area is reputed to be haunted.
